Maria Werner (Westchester, NY), LMSW, CCEMT-P, CIC is a Senior Clinical Educator at Phelps Hospital - Northwell Health. Maria currently provides both prehospital & in-hospital education and simulation. She teaches AHA renewal courses, facilitates drills and competencies, and mentors developing instructors. She especially enjoys designing specialized scenarios to meet & exceed stakeholder standards. Maria has been an active paramedic in both the paid and voluntary systems, and also lectures for both Hatzoloh EMS (Rockland) & LaGuardia Community College (CUNY). Maria recently earned her degree in Social Work from Adelphi University, specializing in mental health, substance abuse, and trauma. She is especially passionate about helping healthcare workers coping with trauma, stress, and grief, especially as a Team Lavender Responder. Additionally, Maria co-hosts the JEMS Ambulance Science Podcast with Scot Phelps.
