Mildred Betancourt has a Ph.D. degree in Counseling Psychology and is currently the Public Safety Wellness Unit Senior Manager for the City of Irving First Responders. Shel oversees and manages the day-to-day operation of the unit to promote safety, wellness, and resilience for all fire and police personnel. Her previous job experiences include working for the Irving Family Advocacy Center for the past 11 years working with victims of crime, where she performed as Clinical Director for 5 years. Dr. Betancourt also worked at the Correctional Department in Puerto Rico. Additionally, she collaborated as an adjunct professor with the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD), and the Caruth Police Institute.
