Dr. Matthew Levy is an Associate Professor and Associate Director of the Johns Hopkins Emergency Medical Services Fellowship, Medical Director of the UMBC Department of Emergency Health Services, and Visiting Professor at the National Center for Disaster Medicine and Public Health. He is Chief Medical Officer and EMS Medical Director of Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services, and the State of Maryland Region III EMS Medical Director. He is Chair of the nonprofit Stop the Bleed Coalition. His career began as an EMS clinician and spans nearly three decades. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and a Fellow of the Academy of Emergency Medical Services. He maintains active roles in local, state, and federal organizations related to prehospital, operational, and disaster medical care.
