Department Head/Associate Professor
Darrell J. DeMartino, DNP, APRN, NRP is department head for Lindenwood University's health science programs. He serves as program director for the bachelor's paramedicine program and is in charge of developing the upcoming nursing program. He is an experienced clinician and educator having taught in EMS for over 25 years. Besides working as a field paramedic in 3 states, he is an emergency department RN, and a Nurse Practitioner in the ICU. Prior to becoming program director, Dr. DeMartino was clinical coordinator at Lindenwood. He is an expert in curriculum design and assessment having developed a number of unique EMS program such as a military medic to paramedic bridge and being involved in two new degree program start-ups. He holds a doctorate from Madonna University and masters' degree from Syracuse University, Excelsior College, and the University of Houston.
