StrataVerve & BuddyCPR
Orlando, Florida
Jennifer Chap is co-founder of BuddyCPR and StrataVerve, a strategic marketing and insights practice. In 2012 Jennifer came face-to-face with SCA, when her husband, Rick, suffered SCA at home. Alerted by their cat, Buddy, Jennifer dialed 9-1-1 and performed Dispatch-Assisted CPR. Grateful to the Orlando Fire Department dispatcher and EMS heroes who resuscitated Rick, Jennifer is passionate to improve awareness and understanding of SCA/CPR/AEDs to increase bystander action and has performed two national public awareness and messaging studies. Jennifer is a CPR/AED volunteer instructor; a stakeholder member of the Columbia University N4C Committee that is developing interventions for family caregivers (co-survivors) of cardiac arrest survivors; a member of the Orange County FL CPR/AED Committee; co-founder of the Call-Push-Shock Movement; and an avid speaker and advocate for the cause. Jennifer was named SCA Foundation Volunteer of the Year in 2020.
